Carter, Tesimu to lead discussion on new opportunities for journalists
September 24, 2010 in News by Jeremy Steele
J-School alumni Kelley Carter and Tara (May) Tesimu headline our morning super session, “The New News: Finding New Opportunities to do Journalism.”
At a time when some journalists are leaving the profession, Carter and Tesimu are among the reporters blazing new trails for journalism.
Tesimu (’04) is Chicago regional editor for Patch, an AOL-owned site launching local news operations across the United States. Carter (’07), an Emmy Award-winning reporter for her work at the Detroit Free Press, has launched a successful freelance career as a Los Angeles-based entertainment reporter.
